MoBY - The Mobility App for Bavaria

MoBY is the free mobility app for all of Bavaria. It serves as a personal travel companion for public transportation users. From planning trips to booking tickets, checking for delays, and requesting connections, MoBY covers nearly all routes in Bavaria and beyond - whether in the city or countryside, by train, U- or S-Bahn, bus, tram, or various sharing services (E-Scooters, rental bikes, etc.), even including demand-responsive services like the call bus.

The app is operated by the Bavarian Railway Company (BEG) on behalf of the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Transport. MoBY's range of functions continues to evolve with new digital services being added regularly. For passengers, this means staying informed, planning, booking, and paying - all within one app and always up to date.

Key Features

Timetable Information: MoBY provides accurate door-to-door connections using trains, buses, and complementary mobility services like sharing and on-demand options. The app covers over 40,000 Bavarian train and bus stops and provides information on departures and arrivals at the user's selected stop or in their vicinity - usually based on real-time data that considers potential delays or cancellations. Users can track the real-time locations of most vehicles via a map. Frequently used routes can be saved as favorites for quick access with a single click.

Tickets: MoBY users can currently purchase and pay for the Germany Ticket and the Bavarian discount ticket for apprentices, students, and volunteers through the app. Many more ticket options will be gradually added step by step.

Connection Pre-Booking: Travelers can pre-book connections with regional trains through MoBY. Passengers can simply request a connection with a tap in the app to initiate the process. Within minutes, they receive a notification on their phone indicating if the train at the connecting station can wait.
